Restoring an area back to healthy native vegetation is a project with a long horizon, and it lives or dies on the decisions made early. We work on revegetation and ecological restoration projects that aim to re-establish native cover - bringing back the species that belong on a site, rebuilding habitat, and creating something that becomes more self-sustaining as it matures.

That means thinking beyond the day of planting: what's already on the site, what should be there, how the planting will be staged, and what it'll take to carry it through the vulnerable first few years. The aim is native areas that knit together and look after themselves over time, not a block of plants that struggles from the start.

Riparian, Wetland, and Stormwater Planting

Planting along streams, around wetlands, and through stormwater areas does real work - stabilising banks, filtering runoff, shading and cooling waterways, and supporting the life that depends on them. It's also planting that has to cope with wet feet, fluctuating water levels, and exposed conditions, so species choice and placement matter even more than usual.

We plant riparian margins, wetland edges, and stormwater treatment areas with species suited to those conditions, set out so they establish and hold. Aftercare and Getting Plants Established

The first couple of years after planting are where projects are won or lost. New plants need releasing from competing weeds, protection while they find their feet, and someone keeping an eye on how they're going. Skip that, and even a well-planned planting can quietly fail.

We provide ongoing maintenance and plant releasing to carry a planting through establishment. Keeping weeds off the new plants, replacing losses where needed, and giving the planting the attention it needs until it's genuinely away. For larger or contract projects, we can build that aftercare into the job from the outset, so establishment is planned and budgeted rather than left to chance.

Replacement Planting After Tree Work

When a tree has to come out, the site rarely wants to be left bare - and often the best outcome is a suitable replacement in the same area, or a better-placed one nearby. Because we're already doing the tree work, we're well placed to handle the replanting as part of the same project.

We can advise on what will suit the spot, plant it, and see it through establishment, so a removal becomes the start of the next tree rather than just a gap. It's a natural continuation of the tree management work we already do for properties across Auckland.
